Rating: EXHILA

If anyone is scratching their heads over the title, here's a clue: I just finished my exams!!! Haha...yes yes, I know I haven't been very faithful in posting for the past week plus. I noticed some people have been complaining :P Haha...but like I mentioned a gazillion times already, this blog is yours. So your contributions would add variety to this place. So send them to me!!

This has been one of the toughest exam schedules I ever had in Uni. Just ended 2 consecutive nights of studying. Yes...I literally study through the night. 11pm to 7am. Not something I would really recommend. Especially if you are like me and you start talking to your Pandan cake. Yes, I eat Pandan cake to stay awake. Dont ask me why. But oh wells...extreme times call for extreme measures. And extreme measures result in extreme consequences. I am really zonked now. But why am I still not sleeping? Hmm...haha. Well, it is definitely not because I am studying. Let's just say that there is something important going on at 2.45am later.

Anyway...to those facing your mid-year exam, how are you doing? If you need any help solving the mystery of Pythagoras...or fighting the forces of Newton...(btw, did you know that Pythagoras made significant contributions in the realm of music too?)...I am feeling quite smart now after all the studying, so throw your hardest questions at me. Every question that I can't help you with entitles you to a chicken wing from Meeting Place :P But NO Chinese questions!! Haha...jokes aside, if you really need help with your schoolwork, I am here to help. Yup, we do honour God with our time that we spent with Him. But we are also called to be students. So let's do our best to give Him all the glory with our results!!

WOOO HOOO!!!! Sorry, I just had to do that. And no, it is not another Games day :)

Seek the Place of Meeting

Sorry for this late promised post. This week has been quite crazy preparing for the next 2 weeks of exams. I have been doing so much maths that I was burning with frustration against the people who came out with all the mathematical theorems and formulaes. But as I thought further...life would be quite different (in a very bad way) if mathematics isn't around. Just a thought. Hmm, I digress...

By the way, Pastor Gary & Sis Lorraine have posted at the IGNYTE blog recently. Do check it out if you haven't. Pastor Gary's post will give you a better idea of what 'worship' is, while Sis Lorraine shares how she prepares for this Saturday's Worship Experience.

So...continuing from my previous post. I was on the way to school when I started thinking about tomorrow's (oh wait...it's already today!!) Worship Experience. And God brought me back to some of my past worship sessions. And in particular, one worship session stood out. Oh...by the way, the 'worship' used in this post refers to worship with songs. There are also other forms of worship.

I had the privilege of attending some worship sessions led by well-known Christian bands - Delirious, Sonic Flood, Casting Crowns, Planetshakers... And WOW!! The atmosphere, electrifying...the music, beautiful...the band, awesome...I admit God has touched me at these events. However, the encounter that was most memorable was not found at any of these events. Instead it was in a relatively simple place that I found my Place of Meeting with God.

So what place is it? It is the Olive Room. Haha...any blur looks? I probably sparked off doses of nostalgia for my 'older' readers :P For those with blurness, Olive Room was at the previous Paya Lebar building, which was one of the places Trinity's youth ministry used to worship. It was much smaller than our chapel...slightly longer than a classroom, and could probably squeeze 150 odd people. The room wasn't anything like our chapel...the walls were white and plain, in fact plaster were coming off them. No spinning colour lights...but we try (ever tried reflecting cds off an OHP?) The worship band was comparatively simpler. But this was the place that I found my Place of Meeting with God.

I still remember it was my first SP camp. I was in JC1, and have been in Trinity for around 1.5 years. I am a second generation Christian, so worship isn't something new to me. But the worship that took place that first night of camp caught me by surprise. Like I said in the previous paragraph, it was a simple worship in a simple place. But sometimes simple is best (first night of BattleCall anyone?) Anyway, during worship, I felt a draw...a urging on. It felt like I was being pushed deeper into worship. And along the way, God was teaching me a new way to worship Him. And as I went deeper, I found myself in the Place of Meeting with God. Imagine being in the courts of God...you can see God on His throne; yet at the same time you can feel His arms around you...hugging you...holding you. A great king who sits on a throne but has his loving arms around me. Greater touch of the love of God I have never felt.

That worship session was a huge stepping stone in my walk with God. Every time I worship Him from that day onwards is a desire to seek that place of meeting with Him. It doesn't matter what songs you are singing...how powerful the atmosphere is...who is in the worship band...who the people are beside you...what they are doing...all of that don't matter. Worship is about your response to God. Just you and Him. It can be worship in your own TAWG...at a small group setting...during church service...or at a mega worship concert...all that matters is for you to seek that place of meeting with God. Trust me...when you meet God, and He puts His arms around you...it beats everything else! Period.

So...have you found your place of meeting with God?

Thoughts on Worship...

On the way to school today, I was thinking about 'Can't Let Go' this Saturday...starting to feel excited and having some expectations...and God planted some thoughts in me regarding my worship and being His worshipper. However God spoke a bit too fast, so meanwhile I am still organising my thoughts and will share them later this week :D Haha...

So in the meantime, I am unofficially declaring the theme of the week is 'Worship'. Send me anything on worship (although of cos I still welcome other topics). It can be doubts/queries that you may have....your thoughts on worship...what does it mean to you? what do you think of it? your secrets to a deeper worship?... and let us start preparing ourselves for a wonderful experience of worshipping God this weekend!!

Quick Announcements

Wow...I am actually amazed I managed to recall what I posted a few days ago, considering that I am cramming my head with numbers and formulas for my upcoming exams.

Haha...alright. Lower Sec just concluded 2 Saturdays of New Beginnings. For those who have not been able to attend, I should be going through it with Caitlan next Saturday before service, so let me know and join in. In case you didnt know, going through New Beginnings and Welcome to Trinity Family (WTTF) are necessary for you to be water baptised and become an offical member of Trinity.

As I will be doing New Beginnings with Caitlan next Saturday, there is a slight change in the timing of our Bible study session. New Beginnings will be from 2-3pm, and Bible study from 3-4pm.

And last thing for this post...next week is WORSHIP EXPERIENCE. After the powerful ministering touch of God during worship at today's service, I just can't wait for next week. But do not come alone...(friends who are already Christians are not counted), bring someone to meet God next Saturday. It can be the same person from Easter, or someone new...it doesnt matter. And remember the Pass-It-On cards you received in your bulletin? Do pass it on. There is a reason why they are called Pass-It-On cards :P

Yay!! First Post...

Yay...our buzz group blog is finally up. Ok...it was already up previously. But due to the breakdown of the server that Bro Melvin bought for his company, our blog disappeared too. While I am crying at the lost of our blog (esp since I posted quite a bit just the day before the server crashed), my heart goes out to Bro Melvin as his company is now without a website. No Website = No Publicity, No Publicity = Less Customers. And all of us know that less customers isnt a good thing for business.

Ok...I may not remember everything I posted on the other site, but I will try my best. Firstly, welcome to the Mustard Seeds' blog. 'mustardseeds' is now joined together since you prefer it this way. This is the place for all of you to post anything you like. It doesnt have to be God or church related...can be your thoughts, struggles, testimonies, funny incidents (yes...ah ma on the MRT can be posted :P), words of encouragement etc. In short...you can post ANYTHING. The only catch is that you have to send it to me as it will be easier to manage the blog this way. However, I may let someone be the blog master in the near future :D In addition to your posts, Bro Melvin and I will be making our own posts (I promise not to suan anyone on this blog, esp Michelle), and putting up updates/announcements regarding the ministry. I heard some of you mentioning that you would like to know more about us ;) Haha...we are waiting for your questions.

So yup...feel free to start sending in your posts. It will be great if you can 'comment' on each other's posts. So start tagging away and have fun!!! (and likewise I hope no one will suan me on this blog...)
